Baker College Professional Services, Inc. seeks to hire an individual to be assigned to the position of ACADEMIC COORDINATOR OF CLINICAL EDUCATION – PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (FULL-TIME) for the benefit of and to be located at Baker of Muskegon.
The Clinical Coordinator holds an academic appointment with administrative and teaching responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. The Clinical Coordinator establishes and fosters productive relationships with clinical sites for the purpose of effectively assigning and supporting students at each site. The Clinical Coordinator functions in the role of liaison between Baker College and the affiliating facility
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in program required; Master degree preferred. Licensed or regulate in an United States jurisdiction as a PT or PTA. Minimum 2 years clinical experience preferred in acute care or neuro setting. Minimum 2 years teaching and/or clinical coordinator experience. Willingness to travel to area clinical sites and other Baker College campus locations preferred. Member of the American Physical Therapy Association preferred. Must be knowledgeable in current program specific equipment and software. Must have good organization and time management skills. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to lift and maneuver independently up to 25 lbs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop new and maintain existing clinical sites which promote student learning. Prepare students for success in clinical education. Coordinate student placement in clinical education. Coordinate all aspects of clinical instruction. Maintain regular communication with Site Development Supervisor for compliance with learning objectives and the site contract. Maintain all required documentation necessary for student placement and evaluation (e.g. health appraisals, background checks, supervisor/student performance evaluations). Assure all students have completed requirements for PPE. Evaluate and approve waiver hours for the PPE based on student work experience. Perform on-site visits of clinical sites. Teach classes as assigned by program director. Maintain all required academic and professional credentials and certifications required for the position. Comply with College and accreditation requirements for assessment of student performance Attend system meetings. Compile all PPE -related evaluations and report stats to Program Director. Facilitate student advising. Other duties assigned.
