The Brighton Center for Specialty Care is the newest University of Michigan Ambulatory Care facility dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The brand new 2-story facility is located at 7500 Challis Rd. Brighton, MI. As a Pediatric Physical Therapist at Michigan Medicine, you will provide medically based outpatient care for infants through young adults with a broad array of common to complex pediatric diagnoses. Our Pediatric PT’s are a collaborative, dedicated group who work in coordination with a multidisciplinary team including: OT, SLP, TR, and PMR Physicians, among others, to provide highly specialized care to patients and their families. What skills will you master?
You will provide direct patient care, utilizing evidence based treatment, designed to restore and maximize performance, using indicated pediatric interventions, in coordination with a multi-disciplinary team.
What are the required qualifications?
Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or higher is necessary
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan is necessary or the position can be underfilled with a candidate that does not yet have possession of current State license to practice Physical Therapy in Michigan
What are the preferred qualifications?
APTA Specialty Board Certification in Pediatrics (PCS)
Completion of an accredited pediatric Physical Therapy residency
Minimum of 1-year pediatric rehabilitation (physical therapy) experience in a medical setting
Experience with the following standardized measurement tools:
Experience with any or all of the following:
Neurologic and genetic diagnoses
Pediatric pelvic floor diagnoses
Kinesiotape and rigid tape techniques
Clinical research experience
This is a fulltime, 40 hour per week position. Clinic hours of operation are Monday through Friday, Facility Hours are Monday- Friday 7:00 AM-7:00 PM and Saturdays 7AM – 12:30 PM. Saturdays would not be required for this position, but applicants must have availability to work within the hours of operation Monday-Friday.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
